Why We Are Republicans

October 20th, 2011, by Midnet Media

The Republican Party, like our nation’s founders, believes that central government must be limited so that it never becomes powerful enough to infringe on the rights of individuals. The United States Constitution was an outline of limits of power of the government.

And, contrary to some people’s opinions, the Constitution is not an outdated document, but one that outlines the limits of government and gives us all liberty. We believe that the Constitution is central to our freedoms and liberties and it should NOT be marginalized.

We believe in a strong REPUBLIC, the root of the name of our party. A strong Republic is a nation of laws and limits on the central government. A Republic is very much different than a Democracy, where a simple majority rules.

We believe that free enterprise and the encouragement of individual initiative and incentive have given this nation an economic system second to none. We seek to foster the private sector and free up entrepreneurs by removing job-killing regulations and removing taxes that otherwise force U.S. companies overseas.

We believe that sound money management should be our goal. Our central bank (the Federal Reserve) should not be allowed to print money without oversight and a full and thorough audit should be required. The central bank has one tool in it’s arsenal: printing money, which causes inflation. Inflation is the silent tax on the people and because of this we seek to move again toward a stable, commodity-based monetary system.

We believe in equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, age sex or national origin.

We believe that Americans value and should preserve their feeling of national strength and pride, and at the same time share with people everywhere a desire for peace and freedom and the extension of human rights throughout the world.

Finally, we believe that the Republican Party is the best vehicle for translating these ideals into positive and successful principles of government.

Speaking to the Youngstown Vindicator yesterday, Democrat gubernatorial candidate Ed FitzGerald continued to demonstrate how out of touch he is with Ohioans.

According to the Vindicator when speaking about driving without a license for years, FitzGerald said, “I didn’t pay attention to it. I didn’t get pulled over. I didn’t have a situation where I was getting away with something other people weren’t.“
The Ohio Republican Party released a new web video detailing how Democrat John “Carnocchio” Carney has been misleading and lying to Ohioans. “Carnocchio” Carney has been airing a negative television ad that has been labeled as false and misleading by at least three independent news organizations.
